Panel saw from China

A sliding table panel saw is only as accurate as its carriage, and listings show table length and motor rating while the carriage guide stays hidden.

Written and listings checked 1 October 2026. Every figure on this page names its source.

01

What you are actually comparing.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price
01

Sliding carriage and its guide

Ask whether the carriage runs on hardened steel rods, a roller track or plain bushes, and how play is taken up. A carriage that lifts gives cuts out of square on long panels.

02

Carriage length and rip width

Carriage length decides the longest crosscut; rip width decides the widest part.

03

Scoring blade and its adjustment

The scoring blade stops laminate chipping on the bottom face. Ask whether it is set by screws or from the front.

04

Tilt, rise and readouts

Handwheels, motorised rise and tilt, or digital readouts. Readouts save setup time; they add no accuracy to a loose carriage.

05

Crosscut fence and outrigger table

Ask for fence length, flip stops and how the outrigger is braced.

02

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

03

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Require thisA pass looks like
Crosscut a full board with the carriage fully extended and measure both diagonals.Diagonals equal within tolerance and no chipping on the bottom face.
Push the extended carriage up and sideways by hand at its far end.No play felt or seen at the blade, and no tight spots over the full stroke.
Cut a 45 degree bevel on your thickest panel. The cut goes through in one pass and the angle is true at both ends.

04

The documents that must arrive with it.

The one people forget. The riving knife and blade guard specification for each blade diameter. The riving knife for a smaller blade is the part most often missing from the crate.

05

When this is the wrong machine.

Buy something else if

Named, not hedged
01

You cut many boards a day to the same cutting lists.

A beam saw, which cuts a stack at a time from a file and does not tie one operator to each cut.

02

Your shop is short of floor space and cuts mostly full boards into large parts.

A vertical wall saw, which stands a board up and needs far less floor than a sliding carriage and outrigger.

06

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Woodworking page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.

Straight answers

Questions buyers ask about this machine.

What is the best panel saw from China for a small cabinet shop?+

One with a scoring blade, a carriage on a hardened guide and a length that fits your largest board.

Chinese vs European panel saw: what should I compare?+

Carriage play at full extension and squareness on a long crosscut. A used European saw with a sound carriage can beat a new one with a loose carriage.

What does panel saw EU compliance involve?+

A Declaration of Conformity under 2006/42/EC, or Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 from 20 January 2027, and instructions in your language. Dust extraction is the employer's duty.

What goes on a panel saw inspection checklist?+

A diagonal check, carriage play by hand, a full-thickness bevel, guard and riving knife fitted.
