Beam saw from China

A beam saw is bought for throughput in stacks, and throughput comes from the pusher, the pressure beam and the software, the three parts a listing describes least.

What you are actually comparing.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price
01

Cutting length and stack height

Cutting length decides whether a full board is cut in one stroke. Stack height decides how many boards are cut at once, and one board less per stroke is lost output every shift.

02

Pusher drive and grippers

The pusher moves the stack to each cut position. Ask for its drive, rack, ball screw or belt, and how many grippers hold the stack.

03

Pressure beam and saw carriage

The beam clamps the stack while the carriage runs under it. Ask for the guide type and the return speed: the return stroke is dead time on every cut.

04

Main and scoring saw motors

The scoring blade cuts the bottom face first so melamine does not chip. Ask how scoring width is adjusted after a blade change.

05

Optimising and labelling software

Ask which import formats the controller reads, where optimising runs, and whether a part label printer is included.

02

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

03

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Require thisA pass looks like
Cut a full stack of your melamine board to a real pattern at contract speed.Every part inside tolerance on length, width and diagonal, and no chipping on the lowest board.
Import one real cutting list from your design software and run it without editing on the saw.The saw reads the file, the pattern matches the office print, and each part gets the right label.
Cut a narrow strip from the rear of a stack after several pusher moves.Strip width holds to tolerance along its length, so the grippers have not slipped.

04

The documents that must arrive with it.

The one people forget. The optimiser licence. A licence tied to one office PC can stop the saw when that PC dies. Get the terms in writing before shipment.

When this is the wrong machine.

Buy something else if

Named, not hedged
01

You cut a few boards a day, or mostly one-off parts.

A sliding table panel saw: less floor space and no software.

02

Most of your parts have curved edges, holes and grooves as well as straight cuts.

A nesting CNC router, which cuts and drills each part in one cycle.

06

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Related machines.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Woodworking page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.

Straight answers

Questions buyers ask about this machine.

Chinese vs European beam saw: where is the real difference?+

In the pusher, the carriage guide and the software. Run the same stack test on both, compare part accuracy and time per board, then price service.

What belongs on a beam saw inspection checklist?+

A measured stack cut, a rear strip cut, a real cutting list imported unedited, and the documents on this page.

What CE documentation does a beam saw need?+

A Declaration of Conformity naming your serial number, and instructions in your language with noise and extraction data. A CE mark on a brochure proves nothing.

Who is the EU importer of a beam saw bought directly from China?+

Usually your company. Your name goes on the machine or its papers, and you check the conformity documents match it.
