Quilting machine from China

A quilting machine is chosen by stitch type and working width, chain stitch or lockstitch, single needle or a bar of many, and the wrong pair cannot be fixed later: the width limits your products and the stitch decides whether a pulled thread unravels a whole row.

What hides inside the price
01

Chain stitch or lockstitch

Multi-needle chain stitch machines run fast from large thread cones but a broken chain can unravel. Lockstitch shuttle machines hold better and need bobbin changes. Mattress ticking and duvets are quilted on both; ask which your buyers accept.

02

Working width

Width must cover your widest product plus margin. Duvet and mattress panels need full width; garment quilting runs narrower.

03

Needle bars and pattern range

Multi-needle machines stitch repeated patterns across the width; single-needle computerised machines stitch free patterns. Ask how many needle bars move independently.

04

Filling height

Thick fibre fill or foam needs presser clearance and a feed that does not shift the layers. Ask the maximum layered thickness at your stitch length.

05

Feeding and take-up

Ask how the top fabric, filling and backing are fed and rolled, and whether panel cutting at the end is included.

02

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

03

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Require thisA pass looks like
Quilt your thickest layer build at full width and your pattern for a counted length. No skipped stitches or layer shift across the width, and pattern repeat within your tolerance end to end.
Pull a cut thread end on a chain stitch sample.Unravelling stops within the length you agreed, or the lockstitch holds.
Run a full shift and log stops for thread breaks and bobbin changes.Metres produced per shift at or above the offer, with each stop logged.

04

The documents that must arrive with it.

The one people forget. A foundation and floor drawing. Wide quilters are long and heavy, and site access is a surprise at delivery.

Named, not hedged
01

You quilt small runs of patchwork or art quilts.

A long-arm quilting machine on a frame. A multi-needle industrial line needs volume.

02

You want logos or fine decoration on quilted panels.

A commercial embroidery machine, with quilting bought as a separate step.

06

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Straight answers

Questions buyers ask about this machine.

Chinese vs European quilting machine: what differs?+

Needle bar precision, feed control over thick fill, frame mass and service. Test both on your thickest product.

What should a quilting machine sourcing guide cover?+

Stitch type and width first, then filling height, then speed and patterns. Speed claims mean little until layer build is fixed.

What CE documentation does a quilting machine need?+

A Declaration of Conformity and a technical file. The CE mark on a photo is not evidence.

Who is the EU importer of a quilting machine bought direct?+

Your company, if it places the machine on the EU market. You check the conformity papers and your details go on the machine or documents.
