Fabric spreading machine from China

A fabric spreading machine is sold on speed, but a spreader that lays stretch fabric under tension produces a lay that looks perfect and cuts every piece short once the fabric relaxes.

What you are actually comparing.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price
01

Tension-free feed

Knits and elastane blends must be fed without pulling. Ask whether the machine drives the roll and the fabric together or pulls fabric off a passive roll.

02

Edge alignment

An edge sensor keeps one selvedge straight across the lay. Without it, lays wander and the marker loses its safe margin.

03

Face-up, face-to-face and turnover

Some fabrics must be spread face to face or folded. Ask which spreading modes the machine does without a turntable option at extra cost.

04

Roll weight and width

Heavy denim or home textile rolls need a stronger cradle and loading aid. Width must cover your widest fabric.

05

Table and rail length

The spreader runs on your cutting table. Ask for the rail length included and whether the table is in the price.

02

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

03

04

The documents that must arrive with it.

The one people forget. The rail and table drawings. The spreader must fit a table your cutter or cutting staff already use.

When this is the wrong machine.

Named, not hedged
01

You cut single plies or samples.

An automatic fabric cutting machine fed straight from the roll. A spreader earns its keep only on multi-ply lays.

02

Your problem is defects found after cutting.

A fabric inspection machine upstream. Spreading faster only cuts faulty fabric faster.

06

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Straight answers

Questions buyers ask about this machine.

Chinese vs European fabric spreading machine: which handles stretch better?+

The one with a driven, tension-controlled feed. Test both on your most elastic knit and measure ply length after relaxation.

What is in a fabric spreading machine sourcing guide?+

Match modes and roll weight first, then edge control, then speed. Speed quoted on a stable woven says little about knits.

What EU compliance applies to a spreader?+

Machinery rules plus low voltage and EMC. Ask for the declaration and the technical file; the CE mark by itself is a claim.

Who is the EU importer when I buy a spreader direct?+

Your business, if it places the machine on the EU market. You check the conformity papers and your details go on the machine or documents.
