A fabric rolling machine looks simple, but the roll it makes decides everything downstream: rolled too tight a knit stretches and shrinks later, rolled loose or crooked the roll telescopes, and the length on the label is only as good as the measuring wheel.

Knits and stretch fabric need low, steady tension. Ask whether tension is set by a brake, a dancer or a driven feed, and whether it holds as the roll grows.
An infrared or photo sensor keeps the edge straight so rolls do not telescope. Cheaper machines rely on the operator.
A measuring wheel slips on smooth or coated fabric. Ask how length is measured and how it is calibrated.
Some machines roll on a tube, some fold or double fabric first. Ask which your buyers expect.

Length accuracy, edge alignment, tension on a knit, guarding at the nip rollers, serial number against the declaration.
Machinery rules, 2006/42/EC until 19 January 2027, then Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, plus low voltage 2014/35/EU and EMC 2014/30/EU. Ask for the declaration and the file.
