Large format printer from China

Large format printer describes a width, not a technology: listings mix eco-solvent, UV, sublimation, water-based and DTF machines, so a sign shop comparing prices before choosing the ink compares different machines.

Written and listings checked 1 October 2026. Every figure on this page names its source.

What you are actually comparing.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price
01

Ink chemistry against your jobs

Outdoor vinyl, indoor posters, polyester textiles and rigid boards each point to a different ink. Split last year's work by job type, then choose the ink that covers most of it.

02

Printable width against media rolls

The width in the name is not always the printable width. Match both to the roll widths your media supplier stocks.

03

Media feed and take-up

Long unattended runs need a powered take-up and steady tension. Skew over a long roll ruins a print that started well.

04

Heaters and drying

Solvent prints need platen, pre and post heaters, often an extra dryer before rewinding. Ask what is in the price.

05

A price that is not a price

Some listings show a figure far below any printer of that width. Ask for a written proforma.

02

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

03

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Require thisA pass looks like
Print a long unattended length of your media at your selling mode.No skew, banding or head strike, measured with a ruler at start and end.
Print your colour chart with the supplied RIP and profile.Colours inside the tolerance you set against your reference.
Rewind or laminate after the stated drying time.No smudging or blocking on the roll.

04

The documents that must arrive with it.

The one people forget. The ink safety data sheets. Forwarders delay ink cartons without them, and you need them to assess solvent vapour.

05

When this is the wrong machine.

Named, not hedged
01

Most of your work is rigid boards, signs and panels.

A UV flatbed printer, which prints straight onto rigid material.

02

You print mainly polyester textiles and flags.

A sublimation printer with a calender press.

06

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Printing & signage page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.
