Heat spread across the platen
Ask the element layout, platen thickness and the edge-to-centre spread the factory measures. A cool rim shows as faded corners on DTF and sublimation transfers.

A garment heat press looks like a hot plate on a hinge, and transfers fail when the platen is cooler at the edges or presses harder on one side, which no listing photo shows.

01
Ask the element layout, platen thickness and the edge-to-centre spread the factory measures. A cool rim shows as faded corners on DTF and sublimation transfers.
Manual clamshells depend on a knob and the operator's arm. Pneumatic presses repeat the same force if the air supply is steady. Ask for a pressure gauge.
Clamshell, swing-away, drawer and dual-station shuttle presses differ in reach, burn risk and output. A dual station lets one garment be dressed while the other presses.
Match the platen to your largest print, and ask which cap, sleeve and small platens fit the frame.
02
Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

| After warm-up, probe platen temperature at the centre and four corners. | All five readings inside the spread written in the offer. |
| Close the press on pressure-indicating paper across the full platen. | Even contact edge to edge, no light corner. |
| Press your transfer on your garment and wash it five times. | No cracking or edge lift, photographed before and after. |

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Printing & signage page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.
