What "ton" means in the quote
Clamping force holds the mould shut during injection. Spec sheets often state it in kilonewtons and round it to tons. Ask for the kN figure and compare quotes on that.

The machine and the mould must fit each other, and a 200-ton quote does not tell you whether your mould fits between its tie-bars or whether its screw can fill your part.

Clamping force holds the mould shut during injection. Spec sheets often state it in kilonewtons and round it to tons. Ask for the kN figure and compare quotes on that.
One clamp size is sold with three screw diameters. A larger screw gives a bigger shot at lower injection pressure; a smaller screw suits thin walls. Different screws mean different machines.
The mould must pass between the four tie-bars, close within the mould height range, and open far enough to eject the part. These differ between machines of the same tonnage.
A fixed hydraulic pump runs all the time. A servo pump turns only when needed. All-electric suits clean rooms and precise parts. Ask for measured kWh per kg on a stated part, not a percentage saving.
Glass-filled nylon, flame-retardant grades and PVC wear or corrode a standard nitrided screw. For these, ask for a bimetallic screw and barrel in the quote.
Ask for the controller brand, heating and hot-runner zones, core-pull and valve-gate sequences, and a EUROMAP 67 robot interface.
A machine quote rarely includes the mould. If one supplier quotes both, ask for separate lines and warranties, and who is responsible for part tolerance.
02
Most Chinese model codes carry the clamping force, in tons or kilonewtons. A code with 200 or 200T is about 2,000 kN; 1980 means 1,980 kN. The code says nothing about the screw option.
03
Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

| Run your mould, or one of similar size and weight, on the machine you will receive, for a counted number of cycles agreed in advance. | All cycles complete at the agreed cycle time with no manual intervention and no alarm, on a signed log. |
| Weigh parts from the start, middle and end of the run, and measure the critical dimensions. | Part weight stays inside the spread agreed before the test, and every critical dimension is in tolerance. |
| Install the mould, cycle it through full opening stroke, and test front gate, rear gate and emergency stops. | The mould clears the tie-bars and ejects at full stroke. Every guard stops clamp movement when opened. |

A blow molding machine, or a PET bottle blowing machine for drinks bottles.
A used European or Japanese machine of the right tonnage from a dealer, with service history. After freight, duty and commissioning it can cost less than a new import.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Plastics & molding page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.
Straight answers
The one that fits your mould and fills your part at a stable weight. Choose the clamp by projected area and the screw by shot weight, then check tie-bar spacing and mould height. Compare prices last.
For general parts in standard polymers, a Chinese servo-pump machine can do the job. For medical, optical or very thin-wall parts, European and Japanese machines usually offer better repeatability and local service. Ask each supplier for the part-weight spread over a counted run.
Whether platens and tie-bars are machined in-house, where screws and barrels come from, and whether machines are tested with real moulds before shipment. Ask to see a completed test record for a recent machine.
An EU Declaration of Conformity naming the model and serial number, the technical file with the risk assessment, and a manual in your language. A CE mark on a brochure proves nothing. Ask for these before any deposit.
Buying directly from outside the EU normally makes you the importer. Your name and address go on the machine or its documents, and you check the conformity documents exist and match it. Delivery after 19 January 2027 means Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 applies.
