What hides inside the price

Mixing principle

Three-dimensional motion and V mixers tumble; a post bin blender turns the transport bin itself; ribbon mixers shear. Free-flowing and cohesive powders suit different ones.

Loading coefficient

Ask the working fill as a share of vessel volume, then convert with your bulk density.

Transfer steps

A bin blender mixes in the bin that goes to the press, so the blend is not poured again and cannot separate on the way.

Guarding

A three-dimensional mixer sweeps a large envelope. The fence, interlock and floor space belong in the quote.

Discharge and finish

Ask for the valve type, inside finish and whether corners are radiused.

Mixing a dry powder is simple mechanics. The difference is finish, guarding and whether the uniformity claim survives your test.

Powder mixer EU compliance: what is needed?+

A Declaration of Conformity under 2006/42/EC, or Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 from 20 January 2027, and interlocked guarding around moving vessels.

GMP or food law?+

EU GMP (EudraLex Volume 4) for licensed medicines manufacturers; food supplements follow Directive 2002/46/EC and Regulation (EC) 1935/2004.

What belongs on the inspection checklist?+
