Impeller and chopper drives
Two fixed speeds or variable frequency drives. Variable speed lets you copy a lab recipe; two-speed forces a new one.

The model number is the bowl in litres, not the batch, and the granulation endpoint moves with impeller speed, binder rate and your own powder, so a demo on the factory's blend proves little about yours.

Ask whether the controller logs impeller power or torque. Without it the endpoint is the operator's hand in the bowl.
Wet mass creeps into impeller and chopper seals. Ask for the seal type, air or water purge, and how the seal is removed for cleaning.
A metered pump and spray nozzle repeat; a funnel does not. Ask which one the price includes.
Ask whether the discharge valve feeds a wet mill or a fluid bed directly, or into open bins.
02
Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

| Require this | A pass looks like |
|---|---|
| Granulate a full batch of your blend with your binder. | Endpoint reached with power or torque curve printed, granule sized and photographed. |
| Repeat the batch at the same settings. | Power curve and granule size close to the first batch. |
| Strip and clean impeller, chopper and seals. | No wet mass left behind seals, time recorded. |

A roller compactor for dry granulation, see the pharmaceutical granulator page.
A bin blender or tumbling mixer, cheaper and gentler.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Pharma & supplements page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.
