Fluid bed dryer from China

The number after FG is not a standard: one listing uses it for kilograms a batch, another for a size class holding a fraction of that, so two quotes for one code can differ several times in capacity.

What hides inside the price

Batch in kilograms of your granule

Ask for the working batch of your wet granule at its bulk density. Ignore the model number.

Fan and airflow

Fan power decides whether a heavy wet bed fluidises at all. Ask for the airflow range and where the inlet filter sits.

Heat source and logging

Steam coils need a site boiler at the stated pressure. Ask for inlet and bed temperature logging.

Filter bags

Bags blind with fine or sticky product and stop the cycle. Ask for bag material, anti-static rating and the shaking method.

Explosion protection

If your powder or solvent can burn, ask whether the vessel is pressure-shock resistant, vented or suppressed, with ATEX (2014/34/EU) papers.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

Wet granule weight per batch, bulk density, start and target moisture.
Water or organic solvent.
Steam pressure on site, or the electrical supply.
Ceiling height for lifting and tipping the bowl.
Whether you are a licensed medicines maker or a supplement business.

IQ/OQ documentation and material certificates for product-contact parts.
Explosion protection documents where product or solvent is combustible.

The one people forget. The pressure-shock or venting calculation, which insurers ask for before start-up.

The gap is mostly air handling, explosion protection and paperwork. Dry a batch of your granule on each.

What CE documentation should a fluid bed dryer have?+

A Declaration of Conformity under 2006/42/EC, or Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 from 20 January 2027, plus ATEX documents where the atmosphere can explode.

Does EU GMP apply?+

EU GMP (EudraLex Volume 4) applies to licensed medicines manufacturers. Supplements fall under food law, Directive 2002/46/EC, with food contact under Regulation (EC) 1935/2004.

What goes on the inspection checklist?+

The three runs above, the bag specification, and a model plate matching the capacity you paid for.
