Pet food mixer from China

Pet food mixer is sold for two different jobs, blending dry meal before extrusion and working raw meat into a paste, and a mixer built for one does poorly at the other.

01

What you are actually comparing.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price
01

Ribbon, paddle or vacuum paddle

A horizontal ribbon suits free-flowing dry meal. Twin paddles fold heavy, sticky meat. Vacuum removes air from meat mixes so fills are denser and more even.

02

Contact material

The ribbon blender we read was carbon steel; the meat mixers were 304 stainless. For wet or meat mixes, ask the grade of every surface the product touches, welds included.

03

Working load, not box volume

The box volume in litres is not what you can mix. Ask the working fill in kilograms of your product; heavy meat fills far less of the box than light meal.

04

Discharge and residue

A slow or incomplete discharge carries one batch into the next. Ask the discharge gate type and what is left inside after emptying.

05

Liquid addition

Oil, water or gravy added through a spray bar mixes better than liquid poured in. Ask whether a spray bar and pump are in the price.

02

Decode the model code.

On the vacuum mixer we read, the number is the box volume in litres, not the batch you can load.

  • ZKJB-650 = 650 litre box.
  • A working fill of your product, stated in kilograms by the factory, is the figure to compare.

03

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

04

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Require thisA pass looks like
A batch of your recipe with a tracer, such as salt, added at a known level.Ten samples from different points all within your written spread of the tracer level.
Batch discharged and the remaining product in the mixer weighed.Residue at or below the figure agreed in the offer.
Washdown by one operator after a meat batch. No visible residue on paddles, shaft seals or gate after the stated cleaning time.

05

The documents that must arrive with it.

The one people forget. Seal part numbers. A leaking shaft seal lets lubricant near the product, and without the part number the mixer waits for a spare from China.

01

You only add fat and palatant to kibble leaving a dryer.

A kibble coating drum, which doses liquid continuously to the kibble flow.

02

You need to grind frozen meat or turn it into a fine emulsion.

A grinder or bowl cutter first; a mixer blends, it does not reduce particle size.

07

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Related machines.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Pet food page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.
