Lanes and cuts per minute
Output is lanes multiplied by cuts a minute. Listings ran from two lanes to twenty. Ask for cuts per minute on your product; a total figure with no lane count cannot be compared.

A stick pack machine is several narrow packers sharing one film and one knife, so the headline output hides whether each lane doses the same weight, and one weak lane can reject a whole row of sticks.

Each lane needs its own auger, cup or pump and its own adjustment. Ask whether lanes can be trimmed one by one while running, and how a lane is stopped when it misdoses.
One reel is slit into lanes, and each back-sealed stick uses a little over twice its width in film. Stick width therefore fixes film width, lane count and frame size together.
Single sticks, strips of joined sticks, straight or zigzag cut, tear notch. Ask which knives come with the machine and what each change costs in time.
Intermittent frames stop the film to seal; continuous frames seal on the move and are faster but harder to set. Ask which, and on what product the speed was measured.

Codes vary. One listing, MLP-480-06, ended in the lane count: 06 for six lanes. The listing did not state film width, so ask whether 480 means film width in millimetres.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

| Require this | A pass looks like |
|---|---|
| Run a counted batch and weigh sticks from each lane separately. | Every lane sits inside the contract tolerance, and no lane's average drifts away from the others during the run. |
| Force a misdose in one lane, for example by blocking its dosing unit. | The machine detects it and rejects that lane's sticks without stopping the whole row, or stops as the quotation describes. |
| Leak test sticks from every lane, including the outer two. | No leaking back seals or end seals on any lane. |

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Packaging page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.
Straight answers
The one with the fewest lanes that meets your hourly volume at the cuts per minute proved on your product. Every extra lane is another dose to control.
Compare lane-by-lane dose control and rejection, not total speed. A used European machine can suit if its stick width and lanes match.
Per-lane weights, the forced misdose test, seal tests on every lane, a timed knife change, guards and nameplate.
