Cobot or industrial robot

Cobot listings stop at a 20 kg payload. Heavier cases, bags or higher rates need an industrial robot inside a fence.

Gripper

Vacuum for sealed cases, clamps for soft packs, forks for bags. Often a separate line.

Safety design

Fence and light curtains, or area scanners that slow the robot. ISO 10218 covers industrial robots and ISO/TS 15066 collaborative use; a risk assessment decides which.

Pallet stations

One station stops the line at each pallet change. Two let it keep stacking.

The one people forget. The declaration for the whole cell. The robot comes with a declaration of incorporation, which covers a partly completed machine only. Someone must assess and CE mark the cell as installed, and with an import that often falls to you.
