Cartoning machine from China

A cartoner is set up around one carton blank and one product, and the first jams usually arrive with cartons from a different board mill than the ones used at the factory test.

What hides inside the price

Intermittent or continuous motion

Intermittent machines stop each carton to load it. Continuous machines keep moving and run faster, but change over more slowly.

Horizontal or vertical loading

Horizontal machines push product in from the side: blisters, tubes, sachets. Vertical machines drop it in from the top: upright bottles, bags.

Product infeed

Placing products into the buckets is often an option. Ask whether the price covers feeding from your upstream machine.

Tuck or glue closing

Hot-melt closing needs a glue unit, often priced on its own line.

Parts for each carton size

Ask how many sizes are included and for a video of one changeover.

Run your product in your blanks at target speed.	Faulty cartons are counted and stay within the rate written in the contract.
Change from your largest carton to your smallest.	Your operator does it from the manual, timed, and the first cartons are good.
Interrupt the product flow and restart.	No jam, and no empty carton leaves the machine.

EU Declaration of Conformity naming 2006/42/EC, or Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 from 20 January 2027.
Manual with a change-part list for each carton size.
Electrical and pneumatic diagrams.

The one people forget. The carton specification the machine was accepted on: board grade, grain direction, blank tolerance. Without it, jams after a supplier change are your problem.
