Dedicated tube machine or sheet cutter with rotary
A dedicated machine has pneumatic chucks travelling along a long bed. A rotary on a sheet laser handles short lengths and occasional work. Ask for a photo of the chucks.

Many machines sold as tube lasers are flatbed sheet cutters with a rotary axis added, and the difference shows up as wasted tube ends, slow loading and profiles the chucks cannot hold.

The end of every tube is held by a chuck and cannot be cut. A third chuck shortens that tail. On stainless tube, tail length is a running cost. Get it in millimetres, in writing.
Round, square, angle and open sections need different jaws. Ask the smallest and largest section and weight per metre.
A bundle loader and unloading table are often options. Without them the operator feeds tubes by hand and the laser waits.
Tube cutting needs its own software that reads 3D files and nests parts along a tube. Ask for a full licence in your name.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

| Require this | A pass looks like |
|---|---|
| Cut a full stock length of your most common tube into your parts, filmed without edits. | The tail is no longer than the contract figure and parts sit inside the agreed tolerance. |
| Cut your smallest and heaviest section, including one open profile. | Both clamp without marking, run without slipping and measure inside tolerance. |
| Import one of your own 3D files into the supplied software. | The file opens without redrawing and cut parts match it. |

A CNC plasma cutting machine with a rotary, which costs less on thick wall.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Metal & CNC page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.
Straight answers
Sources and heads often come from the same makers. The differences are chuck design, tail length, loader and software. Compare those, not wattage.
Nameplates, chuck count and jaw sets, a measured tail on your tube, your sections cut to tolerance, the loader running, interlocks and the licence.
A Declaration of Conformity for the whole machine including loader, a stated laser class and a manual in your language. A brochure CE mark proves nothing.
Buying directly from a Chinese seller normally makes you the importer, responsible for checking the documents match the machine.
