Fiber laser cutting machine from China

Two quotes for a 3015 fiber laser at the same wattage can differ several times over, and the listing will not tell you which laser source, cutting head or frame is inside the price.

Written and listings checked 30 September 2026. Every figure on this page names its source.

01

What you are actually comparing.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price
01

Laser source make, and who repairs it

The most expensive single part. Listings offer two or three source makes under one price. Write make, model and power into the contract, and ask who holds the source warranty, the builder or the source maker.

02

Cutting head and its consumables

Autofocus or manual, and the head maker. Ask where protective windows, nozzles and ceramic rings are stocked in Europe. They wear weekly, and courier parts from China stop a machine for days.

03

Frame and stress relief

Ask the frame weight, whether it was stress relieved after welding, and whether the gantry is cast aluminium or welded steel. A light frame reaches brochure speed on straight lines and loses accuracy on small holes.

04

Drives, rack and guide rails

Servo and reducer makes per axis, rack grade and guide maker. Accuracy claims rest here. Ask which standard the positioning figure was measured to, over what travel.

05

Open bed or enclosure with exchange table

An open single table exposes people to scattered Class 4 radiation. A full enclosure with wavelength-rated windows and an exchange table costs more and lets you load while cutting.

06

Chiller, extraction and assist gas

Is the chiller sized for the fitted source, is the extractor included, and is the machine set up for nitrogen, oxygen or air? The nitrogen supply or high-pressure compressor is rarely in the quote.

07

Nesting software licence

A full licence in your name, how many seats, and who pays for updates or a replacement dongle after warranty.

02

Decode the model code.

The four digits on most flatbed fiber lasers give the working area in hundreds of millimetres. 1530 and 3015 are the same bed in a different order. Power is stated separately, and letter suffixes are each builder's own series marks.

  • 3015 = 3,000 x 1,500 mm = 4.5 square metres.
  • 4020 = 4,000 x 2,000 mm = 8 square metres, 1.8 times the 3015.
  • 6025 = 6,000 x 2,500 mm = 15 square metres, over three times the 3015.

03

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

04

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Require thisA pass looks like
Cut your own sheets to your drawing, including holes with diameter equal to thickness and a slot pattern, on your thickest and most common material, filmed without cuts.Every hole and slot measures inside the contract tolerance, holes are round, and bottom dross is absent or removable by hand, as agreed beforehand.
Photograph source and head nameplates and read running hours from the source controller.Make, model and power match the contract, and source hours are close to zero on a new machine.
Cut a large square with a hole at each corner across the full bed, then measure diagonals and hole positions.Diagonals and hole centres agree within the contract positioning figure, measured by your inspector with calibrated tools.

05

The documents that must arrive with it.

The one people forget. The source maker's serial number and warranty registration in your name. Without it, a source failure in month ten becomes a dispute between you, the builder and the source maker while the machine stands idle.

06

When this is the wrong machine.

Buy something else if

Named, not hedged
01

Most of your parts start as tube, profile or pipe in long lengths.

A tube laser cutting machine with chucks and a loading rack. A flat bed with a rotary add-on suits occasional tube only.

02

Your work is mostly thick carbon plate with bevelled weld preparation, and edge finish is secondary.

A CNC plasma cutting machine with a bevel head. It costs less to buy and run on thick plate.

03

You cut wood, acrylic or textiles as often as metal.

A CO2 laser, whose wavelength suits organic materials.

07

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Metal & CNC page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.

Straight answers

Questions buyers ask about this machine.

Chinese vs European fiber laser cutting machine: what is the difference?+

The process is the same, and many Chinese frames carry sources and heads from the same makers as European ones. The differences are frame stiffness, drives, software and service travel time. A used European machine with a service history can be the better buy if local service exists.

What goes on a fiber laser cutting machine inspection checklist?+

Source, head, servo and chiller nameplates against the contract, source hours, your sample cuts measured, the full-bed diagonal test, interlocks and emergency stops, and the licence in your name.

What CE documentation does a fiber laser cutting machine need?+

An EU Declaration of Conformity for this serial number, the technical file behind it, a stated laser class for the whole machine and a manual in your language. A brochure CE mark proves nothing. Ask for the declaration before any deposit.

Who is the EU importer of a fiber laser cutting machine?+

Buying directly from a Chinese seller normally makes you the importer. Your name and address go on the machine or its documents, and you check the conformity documents exist and match it. Delivery after 19 January 2027 falls under Regulation (EU) 2023/1230.

What does a fiber laser cutting machine factory audit check?+

Whether the factory welds and stress relieves its own frames, assembles and tests in house, holds source and head stock, and can cut your materials.
