CNC lathe from China

Chinese lathe quotes share one model code across flat-bed economy machines and slant-bed production lathes, so two CK6150 offers can be different classes of machine.

What hides inside the price
01

Flat bed or slant bed

Flat-bed lathes derived from manual designs are cheaper. Slant beds shed chips and carry a turret for production. Ask which, with a photo.

02

Controller make and option level

The same lathe is offered with several controller makes, which decide service in Europe.

03

Spindle bore and chuck

The bore sets the largest bar you can feed. Ask bore and chuck size.

04

Tool post or turret

Count tool stations and ask the turret maker.

02

Decode the model code.

Chinese lathe codes follow a national convention: C for lathe, K for CNC, 61 for a horizontal lathe, then maximum swing over the bed in centimetres. A marks a builder variant, J an economy version. A figure after a slash is the distance between centres.

  • CK6140: 40 x 10 = 400 mm swing over the bed.
  • CK6166/3000: 66 x 10 = 660 mm swing, 3,000 mm between centres.

03

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Metal & CNC page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.

Straight answers

Questions buyers ask about this machine.

Chinese vs European CNC lathe: which to buy?+

For simple turning, a slant-bed Chinese lathe with a known controller can do the job. For tight tolerance over long shifts, a used European lathe may be better.

What is on a CNC lathe inspection checklist?+

Nameplates, your part measured after warm-up, the accuracy sheet and door interlocks.

What CE documentation does a CNC lathe need?+

A Declaration of Conformity for this serial number and a manual in your language. A CE sticker alone proves nothing.

Am I the EU importer of a CNC lathe?+

Normally yes, when you buy directly from China. You check the documents and put your name on the machine or its papers.
