What hides inside the price

Manual, hydraulic or CNC feed

Hand-feed grinders suit toolrooms. Hydraulic table drive gives steady strokes for batches. CNC adds automatic infeed and dressing.

Spindle bearings and motor

Finish and flatness depend on the spindle. Ask the bearing type and the spindle runout on this serial number.

Magnetic chuck and coolant

Electro-magnetic or permanent chuck, and whether filtered coolant is fitted.

Saddle or column design

Saddle-type suits small tables; column-moving and gantry designs carry large parts.

Decode the model code.

Small surface grinders often use inch table codes, for example 618 or 1224. National Chinese codes such as M7130 use M for grinder, 71 for a horizontal-spindle rectangular table, then table width in centimetres.

1224: 12 x 25.4 = 305 mm by 24 x 25.4 = 610 mm table.
M7130: 30 x 10 = 300 mm table width.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

Largest part: length, width, height and weight.
Flatness, parallelism and surface finish you must hit.
Materials, including hardened steel or non-magnetic parts.
Batch size, which decides manual, hydraulic or CNC.
Coolant and swarf disposal on your site.

Grind your part to size after a warm-up.	Flatness, parallelism and finish meet your drawing, measured by your inspector.
Measure spindle runout with a dial indicator.	Runout is within the figure in the contract.
Check the wheel guard and chuck interlock.	The wheel cannot start with the guard open, and the table stops if the chuck loses power.

EU Declaration of Conformity for this serial number naming 2006/42/EC, or Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 from 20 January 2027, with EN ISO 16089 for grinding machines among the standards applied.
Wheel specification and maximum wheel speed, with wheels marked to EN 12413.
Manual in the language of use and accuracy test sheet.
