Robotic depalletizer from China

Unloading a pallet is harder than building one, because the robot meets the pallet as your supplier stacked it, shifted, crushed and wrapped, so the hard part is whether the gripper and the vision system can find and hold every case you actually receive.

What hides inside the price
01

Robotic or layer depalletizer

Many machines sold as depalletizers sweep whole layers of empty bottles or cans off the pallet. A robotic depalletizer picks cases or layers with an arm. Check which one the quote describes before comparing prices.

02

Vision or fixed pattern

A fixed pattern works only if every pallet arrives stacked exactly to plan. A 2D or 3D camera finds shifted and mixed cases. Ask what happens when the camera cannot find a case: stop, retry or call an operator.

03

Gripper type

Vacuum for sealed, flat-topped cartons, clamps or forks for open trays, shrink packs and bags. One gripper rarely handles all. Ask for the gripper drawing and the case list it was sized for.

04

Tier sheets, empty pallets and wrap

Who removes slip sheets between layers, who stacks empty pallets, and who cuts the stretch film. Often a person does the last one, and the cell must let them in safely.

05

Robot, payload and reach

Robot brand, rated payload at full reach including the gripper, and the axis count. Payload that counts only the case, not the gripper, is a common short-cut.

02

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

03

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Require thisA pass looks like
Depalletise your own pallets, including shifted and crushed layers, at the quoted rate.Every case reaches the outfeed in orientation, no drops, and each missed pick is counted and recovered without a person entering the cell.
Pull a case half out of place on the top layer and restart.Vision finds it or the cell stops safely and asks for help, it never grips blind.
Open the pallet entry while the robot runs. The robot stops or stays out of the entry zone by a safety-rated function, and restart needs a reset.

04

The documents that must arrive with it.

The one people forget. The robot's own declaration of incorporation. The arm is a partly completed machine; the cell builder must declare the whole cell, and if nobody does, you become the manufacturer.

When this is the wrong machine.

Buy something else if

Named, not hedged
01

You unload whole layers of empty bottles or cans for a filling line.

A layer or high-level depalletizer, which sweeps a layer at a time faster than an arm picks.

02

Your incoming pallets are a few per day, each different.

A lift table and a person, or a vacuum lifting aid; a cell will spend its time in recovery.

06

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

07

Related machines.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Material handling page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.

Straight answers

Questions buyers ask about this machine.

Chinese vs European robotic depalletizer: what really differs?+

The vision software and the recovery logic. Robots may be the same brand. Compare missed-pick rates on your own pallets.

What is on a robotic depalletizer inspection checklist?+

A run on your real pallets, missed picks counted, gripper on every case type, safety functions at the pallet entry, and the recipe list.

What CE documents does a depalletizing cell need?+

A Declaration of Conformity for the whole cell, not only the robot, with the risk assessment behind it.

Who is the EU importer?+

The company placing the cell on the EU market, often the buyer. It checks the declaration and adds its name and address.
