Atomizer
Two-fluid nozzles suit most lab work and come in several bores. Rotary atomizers need more feed and a wider chamber. Ultrasonic nozzles give narrow droplet sizes at low flow.

The litre figure on a laboratory spray dryer is water evaporated per hour at the hottest inlet setting, so a heat-sensitive feed run cooler gives far less, and small batches lose a share of powder to the glass walls and the cyclone.

Two-fluid nozzles suit most lab work and come in several bores. Rotary atomizers need more feed and a wider chamber. Ultrasonic nozzles give narrow droplet sizes at low flow.
An open unit blows heated air through and out. A feed with ethanol, methanol or other flammable solvent needs a closed loop with nitrogen and solvent recovery, which is a different and dearer machine.
A glass cyclone catches most particles; the finest pass through. Ask whether a second cyclone or filter is fitted, and the yield measured on a real product.
Ask the inlet range, whether outlet temperature is controlled or only shown, and whether the air flow is adjustable. Outlet temperature decides what your product feels.
Check whether a compressor is built in or you supply dry air, and whether an automatic needle clears the nozzle during a run.
02
Codes such as 2L or 1500 usually mean water evaporation per hour, in litres or millilitres, at maximum inlet temperature. That is a ceiling for water, not your powder output.
03
Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

|---|---|
| Spray a weighed batch of your feed at the inlet and outlet temperatures you will use. | Recovered powder weighed and yield stated as a percent of solids fed, at or above the figure in the offer. |
| Measure residual moisture and particle size on that powder. | Both at or below target, measured by your lab or a third party. |
| Run for the longest session you plan without stopping. | Nozzle stays clear, outlet temperature holds inside a band written in the order. |

A laboratory freeze dryer, which dries frozen product under vacuum.
A vacuum drying oven, which dries solids on trays.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Lab & process page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.
Straight answers
Nozzle design, outlet temperature control, small-batch yield, glassware quality and solvent-safe versions. Ask each seller for yield on a feed like yours.
Serial number against the declaration, inlet and outlet sensors, air flow, nozzle sizes supplied, glassware joints, cleaning needle, and a weighed yield test on your feed.
A Declaration of Conformity for that serial number, backed by a technical file, under machinery, low voltage and EMC rules, plus ATEX for solvent units.
The business placing it on the EU market, normally the buyer importing direct. Your details go on the unit or its papers and you check the conformity file.
