High shear homogenizer from China

Every high shear homogenizer listing leads with rpm, but shear depends on how fast the rotor edge moves past the stator, so a lab result only scales up if you know rotor diameter and gap on both machines.

What you are actually comparing.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price
01

Batch head or inline

A batch head dips into a vessel from the top or bottom. An inline unit sits in a pipe and treats product on each pass, and needs a feed pump or a pumping head and a return loop.

02

Rotor, stator and gap

Ask rotor diameter, stator slot pattern, the gap between them, and the number of stages. Two machines at the same rpm with different rotors give different droplets.

03

Motor under load

Speed stated empty can drop sharply in a thick cream. Ask motor power, whether a frequency drive is fitted, and the speed at your viscosity.

04

Seal and wetted parts

Bottom-entry and inline heads rely on a mechanical seal that product touches. Ask seal type and faces, and the steel grade of every wetted part.

05

Minimum working volume

The head must stay covered or it whips in air. That sets the smallest batch a vessel can run.

02

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

03

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Process a batch of your own formula at the speed and time you plan to use, measuring speed under load.Droplet size at or below target on your instrument, and the emulsion still stable after your storage test.
Run the smallest batch you plan in the quoted vessel.Head stays covered, no visible air drawn into the product.
Clean the head and seal area with your cleaning method, then open it up.No product residue left behind the stator or around the seal.

04

The documents that must arrive with it.

The one people forget. The rotor and stator drawing with the gap stated. Without it a spare head from elsewhere changes your product.

01

You need very fine nanoemulsions on small volumes in a lab.

An ultrasonic homogenizer, which works at a probe tip on millilitre to litre samples.

02

Your product is a heavy paste that barely flows.

A planetary mixer, which moves the whole mass instead of relying on flow through a head.

06

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Related machines.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Lab & process page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.

Straight answers

Questions buyers ask about this machine.

Chinese vs European high shear homogenizer: what am I paying for?+

Rotor and stator machining, gap tolerance, seal quality, motor speed under load and documentation. Ask both sellers for rotor diameter and gap and compare tip speed.

What goes on a high shear homogenizer inspection checklist?+

Serial number against the declaration, rotor and stator against the drawing, speed at load, seal type, steel grade certificates, minimum volume and a cleaning check.

What CE documentation does a high shear homogenizer need?+

A Declaration of Conformity with a technical file behind it under machinery, low voltage and EMC rules. For food, a food-contact declaration. A CE mark alone proves nothing.

Who is the EU importer of a high shear homogenizer?+

The business placing it on the EU market, often you when buying direct. Your name goes on the unit or its papers and you check the conformity file exists.
