Carbonated drink filling machine from China

A carbonated drink must be filled under pressure and keep its CO2 through capping, and a filler that looks fine on still water can foam and underfill on your drink at the stated speed.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price

Valve type

Mechanical isobaric or electronic valves with flow meters. Ask the valve maker and the price of a spare.

Carbonation handled

The highest CO2 level at which rated speed still holds.

Carbonator and chiller

Separate machines. Many filler quotes leave both out.

Container and closure

PET with screw caps or glass with crowns, each with its own grippers and cappers.

Pressure rating

Rated pressure of the bowl and whether it is documented as pressure equipment.

Decode the model code.

DCGF 18-18-6 means 18 rinsing, 18 filling and 6 capping heads. Filling heads set the speed ceiling.

18 valves x 3,600 seconds / 5,000 bottles = about 13 seconds per valve cycle.
18 x 3,600 / 4,000 = 16.2 seconds per valve cycle.
Colder, less carbonated product fills faster, so ask the temperature and CO2 level behind the speed.

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

CO2 level of your drink and the filling temperature you can reach.
Bottle drawings, neck finish, cap or crown.
Bottles per hour on your largest bottle.
Whether carbonator, chiller and cleaning station are in scope.
CO2 supply and the purity your gas supplier certifies.

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Require this	A pass looks like
Fill your drink at your CO2 level and temperature, a counted series at rated speed.	Fill level within tolerance and measured CO2 inside your specification.
Measure CO2 right after capping and a day later.	Loss between readings inside your specification.
Leak and torque check on bottles from the run.	No leaking bottle and removal torque inside the cap supplier's range.

EU Declaration of Conformity.
Pressure equipment documents where 2014/68/EU applies.
Food contact declarations under Regulation (EC) 1935/2004.

The one people forget. Pressure conformity for the carbonator or product tank. Without it a vessel can fail an inspection or insurance survey.

You fill only still water or juice.

A gravity or hot-fill filler.

You make craft soda, a few hundred an hour.

A bench counter-pressure filler, or a can filling and seaming machine.
