Wire range, stated or not
Only two of thirteen stripping listings we checked gave a wire size range. A machine set up for fine signal wire and one for heavy power cable use different blades, rollers and motors.

A cut and strip machine is judged on one thing a photo cannot show: whether it removes insulation cleanly without nicking or cutting copper strands, on every wire type you run.

01
Only two of thirteen stripping listings we checked gave a wire size range. A machine set up for fine signal wire and one for heavy power cable use different blades, rollers and motors.
Ask the blade type for each wire range, how long a set lasts, whether you can buy them in Europe, and whether one blade set covers all your sizes or needs changing.
Stripping an outer jacket and then inner cores needs two stripping depths and often a rotary blade head. Ask whether the machine does both in one pass.
Belt feed or wheel feed, and whether length is measured by encoder. Ask for the length tolerance on your wire, stated in writing, not the brochure maximum.
Of twelve cut and strip listings, four also crimped terminals and three were other machines entirely. Decide whether you want crimping now, because adding it later means another machine.
02
Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

| Require this | A pass looks like |
|---|---|
| Cut and strip a counted batch of each of your wires. | Strands inspected under magnification with none cut or nicked beyond your standard, such as IPC/WHMA-A-620, and results recorded per wire. |
| Measure lengths on a sample from the start and end of the run. | All lengths inside the tolerance agreed in writing. |
| Change from your finest wire to your heaviest, timed. | Changeover time recorded and the first leads after the change pass the strand check. |

A scrap cable stripper or granulator; search results for this name mix both kinds of machine.
A wire harness crimping machine that cuts, strips and crimps in one pass.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.
07
Every machine we source in this area is on the Electronics & assembly page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.
Straight answers
Mechanically the gap is small for common wire. It shows on fine stranded wire and on sheathed cable, where blade quality and control decide nicked strands. Test on your hardest wire.
The three tests above, the blade cover interlock, and the program saved and reloaded for each wire.
The Declaration of Conformity, the technical file and a manual in your language. Ask for the declaration before paying.
Your business, when it brings the machine in. You put your name and address on it and keep the declaration for the authorities.
