Applicator per terminal
Each terminal family needs its own applicator, side-feed or end-feed. Ask which terminals the quoted applicator fits, whether it is included, and the price of each extra one.

The press is the cheap part of a terminal crimping machine; the applicator that shapes each terminal decides whether the crimp holds, and it has to match your exact terminal and wire, which a listing never shows.

Only one of fourteen automatic listings we checked stated a force, offered in 2, 3 and 4 ton versions. Your largest wire and terminal set the force you need; ask for it in writing.
A force monitor compares every crimp curve to a good one and flags missing strands or insulation in the crimp. Ask whether it is fitted or only an option.
Ask how crimp height is set, how fine the steps are, and whether the setting is held when you change applicators.
A bench press crimps a wire the operator has already cut and stripped. If you also want cutting and stripping in one machine, you are buying a harness crimping machine.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

| Require this | A pass looks like |
|---|---|
| Crimp a counted batch of each of your terminals on your wire. | Crimp height inside the terminal maker's specification on every sample, measured with a crimp micrometer and recorded. |
| Pull test samples and cut one crimp across for a cross-section photo. | Pull force above the value in your specification or IEC 60352-2, and the section shows no voids or cut strands. |
| Feed a wire with a few strands removed. | The crimp force monitor rejects the crimp and stops the press. |

A fully automatic wire harness crimping machine that does all three in one pass.
A hydraulic lug crimper with hexagonal dies, not a terminal press.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.
07
Every machine we source in this area is on the Electronics & assembly page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.
Straight answers
In presses, less than the price suggests. In applicators it is larger: tool steel, finish and fit to branded terminals. Test applicators on your terminals before you decide.
The three tests above, a guard check at the crimp zone, and punch and anvil numbers against the applicator drawing.
A Declaration of Conformity, a technical file and a manual in your language. The pinch point at the applicator should be covered in the risk assessment.
The business that brings it into the EU. If that is you, your name and address go on it, and you keep the declaration.
