01Scope: process, packing or both
The process side is water treatment, a heated mixing vessel, a homogeniser and a storage tank. The packing side is filling, capping, labelling and coding. Ask for a list of every machine the price covers, with a layout drawing.
02Charging concentrated surfactant
Surfactant paste is thick and turns into a stiff gel if water is added the wrong way. Ask how the vessel takes in paste, which agitator is fitted, and whether a paste transfer pump is included.
03Air and foam
Shampoo traps air while mixing and foams while filling. Ask whether the vessel mixes under vacuum or slows near the end, and whether nozzles fill from the bottom.
04The link between the two halves
Pumps, pipes and a buffer tank carry product from mixing to filling. These are the parts most often missing from both quotes, because each side assumes the other supplies them.
05Cleaning between products
Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel may share one line. Ask whether the quote includes a cleaning skid or only spray balls.
