01Bullet moulding or vial filling
For stick lipstick you need a heated tank, moulds, a cooling or freezing stage and a release step into the case. For liquid lipstick and gloss you need a small-volume doser, a wiper and a capper. Ask the factory to name which one they are quoting.
02Melt tank and temperature control
Wax and pigment separate if the melt is not stirred, and colour drifts between the first and last bullets. Ask for a jacketed, stirred tank with its own temperature controller and heated nozzles.
03Cooling and release
Cooling time decides output, and a bullet released too warm breaks or smears. Ask how long each mould set cools, at what temperature, and whether release into the case is by hand or automatic.
04Moulds
Silicone moulds give a glossy finish and wear out. Metal moulds last longer and need a polishing and release routine. Ask how many moulds per set, and the cost and lead time of a new shape.
05Flaming and finish
Many brands pass bullets briefly through a flame for gloss. Ask whether this step is included, and how the flame is guarded.
