Mascara filling machine from China

Mascara is thick, the fill is tiny and the neck is narrow, and a machine that doses well can still leave you pressing a wiper into every bottle by hand, because most quotes stop at filling and capping.

01

What you are actually comparing.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price
01

Wiper insertion

The wiper sits in the neck and controls how much product the brush picks up. Ask whether the machine sorts and presses wipers, how it checks each one is seated, and whether your wiper was tested.

02

Dosing a very thick product into a narrow neck

Piston, rotor pump and pressure-tank dosing all appear under this name. A thick, fibre-loaded mascara needs a nozzle that fits inside the neck and fills from the bottom, or air stays trapped in the vial.

03

Brush cap placing

The brush must enter the filled vial straight without pushing product over the neck. Ask whether caps are fed automatically and how the stem is guided.

04

Pucks and small containers

Slim mascara vials cannot stand on a conveyor by themselves. Ask for pucks or holders per vial size and what an extra set costs.

05

Evaporation during stops

Mascara skins over in an open hopper. Ask whether the hopper is closed and whether the nozzle seals between fills.

02

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

03

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Require thisA pass looks like
Fill, wipe and cap a counted run of your vials at target speed, then weigh each.Every fill inside tolerance, every wiper fully seated, no product on the neck.
Open a sample of filled vials and pull the brush. The brush carries an even load, and no air gaps show in the column of product.
Stop the machine for thirty minutes with product in the hopper, then restart. The first fills after restart are inside tolerance with no skinned lumps.

04

The documents that must arrive with it.

The one people forget. The component tolerance the tooling was built to. If your wiper supplier changes, a slightly different wiper can jam the placer, and the drawing shows whose part is out.

05

When this is the wrong machine.

Buy something else if

Named, not hedged
01

You fill pourable serum or gloss with no wiper.

A simpler small-volume liquid filler. Wiper tooling is money you will not use.

02

You launch a few thousand units at a time.

A semi-automatic pressure filler with hand-fitted wipers until volume justifies automation.

06

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.
