A batching plant is sold by hourly capacity, but that figure is mixer volume times a cycle time nobody measured with your aggregates and admixtures.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price

Mixer type and discharge volume

Twin shaft mixers suit ready-mix and precast; planetary mixers suit small or coloured batches. Ask for discharge volume, not drum capacity.

Weighing: scales, load cells, calibration

Ask whether cement, water and admixtures each have their own scale, and how calibration is done on site.

Silos and screw conveyors

Some offers leave out the cement silos, others the screw conveyors or filters. Count all three in every quote.

Aggregate feed: belt or skip hoist

Belt-fed plants run continuously; skip hoist plants are cheaper and slower. The code does not say which was priced.

Stationary or mobile

YHZS plants sit on a towable chassis with smaller bins and silos. Choose by how often you will really move.

Decode the model code.

HZS is a stationary plant, YHZS a mobile one, and the number is theoretical output in cubic metres an hour: discharge volume times batches an hour.

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

The concrete you will sell, by strength class and exposure class under EN 206, and the peak hour you must serve.
Aggregate sizes and number of bins, plus your admixtures and any colour or fibre dosing.
Cement types and the silo tonnage you need for your delivery interval.
Winter operation: heated water or aggregate.
Site footprint and who designs the foundations.

Time 20 consecutive batches of your mix design on a running plant of the same model.	Average cycle, times mixer volume, gives the hourly rate written in the contract.
Check each scale with certified test weights at low, middle and full load.	Every reading inside the tolerance written in the offer, recorded per scale.
Take samples from the start, middle and end of one discharge.	Slump and air content agree within the limit set before the test.

The documents that must arrive with it.

EU Declaration of Conformity under 2006/42/EC, or Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 from 20 January 2027, with 2014/35/EU and 2014/30/EU.
Silo and frame structural calculations with their wind and snow loads.
Scale calibration certificates and the control software manual in your language.

The one people forget. Silo structural calculations stamped for your site loads. Many local authorities ask for them before a building permit, and a supplier that designed for its home climate may not hold them.

Buy something else if

Named, not hedged

You need dry bagged products, such as render, adhesive or screed, rather than wet concrete.

A dry mortar production line, which dries and blends sand instead of adding water.

You only pour a few loads a week on one site.

A self-loading mixer truck or buying ready-mix.
