Tunnel washing machine from China

In a tunnel washer the belt speed is also the wash time, so a quote that promises more output by running the belt faster has shortened every stage, and the only honest route to more output at the same result is a longer tunnel.

What hides inside the price

Zone lengths

Time in each zone equals zone length divided by belt speed. Ask the length of prewash, wash, rinse, blow-off and drying zones in millimetres, not only the overall machine length.

Conveyor type and width

Wire mesh belt, chain with fixtures, or rollers. Small parts fall through coarse mesh; tall parts need spray from the sides as well as above and below.

Carry-over between zones

Parts drag wash liquid into the rinse. Drip sections and curtains between zones keep the rinse clean; without them the rinse turns into a second wash tank.

Heat source per tank

Each heated zone has its own tank. Electric, steam or gas heating changes running cost and what utilities you must bring to the machine.

Drying

Air knives blow water off; a heated dryer evaporates the rest. Cupped parts that hold water need orientation or tilting, not just more air.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

Footprint and height of the largest part on the belt, and the spacing between parts.
Parts per hour and the belt speed your line runs at.
Which stages you need: prewash, wash, rinse, rust protection, blow-off, drying.
Floor length available, inlet and outlet heights, and the conveyors either side.
Heat source you can supply and where vapour will be ducted.

Measure belt speed and each zone length on the machine, then run your parts at the contracted rate.	Measured time in each zone matches the arithmetic in the contract, and parts meet the agreed cleanliness check.
Sample the rinse tank after an hour of production.	No foam and a conductivity or concentration reading inside the agreed limit, showing carry-over is controlled.
Check parts at the exit, including cups and recesses.	Dry to the level written in the contract, with no standing water in any cavity.

EU Declaration of Conformity for the serial number under 2006/42/EC or, from 20 January 2027, Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, with 2014/35/EU and 2014/30/EU.
Layout drawing with zone lengths, tank volumes, conveyor height and utility connection points.
Manual in the language of use, including guarding at the belt inlet and outlet.

The one people forget. The layout drawing with inlet and outlet heights. A tunnel sits between two other processes, and a mismatch in conveyor height is otherwise found on installation day.

Named, not hedged

You mean a laundry tunnel washer for hotel linen or workwear.

A continuous batch washer from a laundry equipment supplier. It shares the name, not the machine.

You wash small mixed batches that arrive at irregular times.

An industrial parts washer. A tunnel held hot all day for a few batches wastes energy and floor.
