Rated crate and soil
Ask which crate size and which soil the rate was measured on. A shallow bakery tray and a deep meat crate with dried blood are different jobs at the same belt speed.

Crate washers are sold by crates per hour, but that rate depends on the size of the reference crate, the soil on it and whether crates leave dry enough to stack, so the headline figure means little until it is tied to your crate.

Ask which crate size and which soil the rate was measured on. A shallow bakery tray and a deep meat crate with dried blood are different jobs at the same belt speed.
Organic soil needs a prewash zone that takes it off before the hot wash. Paper labels and glue need high pressure nozzles and a screen that stops pulp reaching the pump.
Manual loading, a destacker and stacker, or turnover of crates upside down. Handling often costs more staff time than washing does.
Steam, electric or gas heating of the wash tank, and fresh water use per crate in the final rinse. Both run every day for the life of the machine.
Wet crates stacked straight away hold water. Air knives or a centrifugal dryer add length and cost; ask which is in the price.
Tank corners, drains and welds you can clean. Ask how the design relates to EN 1672-2 rather than accepting the phrase food grade.
02
Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

| Require this | A pass looks like |
|---|---|
| Wash your dirtiest crates, with labels, at the contracted rate. | Labels and glue gone, no visible soil, and ATP swabs below the limit your hygiene plan sets. |
| Weigh a dry crate, wash it, and weigh it again at the exit. | Water left per crate is within the grams written in the contract. |
| Run a mixed batch of your crate sizes without stopping. | No jams at infeed or turnover, and no crate needs a second pass. |

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Industrial cleaning page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.

Hygienic detail, label handling and drying. Ask both to wash your crate with your soil, then compare swabs and weight of water left.
Rate on your crate, label removal, swab results, water left per crate, tank drains and dead corners, guarding at infeed.
Crates that touch food fall under Regulation (EC) 1935/2004, and your hygiene plan must cover how they are cleaned. The washer's CE documents are the machinery, low voltage and EMC ones.
The business placing it on the EU market, often the buyer. It checks the Declaration and technical file and adds its name.
