Aqueous parts cleaning line from China

An aqueous parts cleaning line is bought against a cleanliness specification, yet most quotations describe tanks and stages rather than the particle or residue limit your customer will measure, so a line can arrive complete and still fail your first audit.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price

Cleanliness target and test method

Residual particles per component, as in ISO 16232 or VDA 19.1 for automotive parts, or a film residue limit. The line is designed backwards from this number, so it belongs in the enquiry.

Stage sequence

Wash, one or more rinses, rust protection, drying. Each extra rinse cuts chemical carry-over; a quote that drops one is cheaper and dirtier.

Transfer between stages

Manual baskets, a gantry or a robot. Slow transfer lets parts dry with spots or flash rust between tanks.

Bath care

Oil separator, bag or cartridge filters, and a conductivity probe on the final rinse fed with deionised water. These keep results stable for months.

Drying

Hot air suits open parts. Vacuum drying costs more and is often what blind holes and cast passages need.

Effluent

Spent baths and rinse overflow must go somewhere. Ask whether wastewater treatment or an evaporator is in scope; it is easy to leave out.

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

The cleanliness specification in writing, with your customer's test method.
Parts per hour, the basket or fixture, and drawings of the worst part geometry.
The upstream fluid: neat oil, emulsion, grinding sludge or drawing compound.
Your water quality, and whether deionised water already exists on site.
How spent baths will leave the site, and what your local wastewater permit allows.

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Require this	A pass looks like
Run production parts through every stage at the quoted cycle time, then extract and analyse residual particles by your customer's method.	Every sampled part is inside the limit, with the lab report attached to the acceptance record.
Log final rinse conductivity across a full shift.	It stays under the value agreed in the contract, showing carry-over is under control.
Inspect blind holes and threads after drying and after the agreed hold time.	No standing water, no drying stains, no flash rust.

One EU Declaration of Conformity covering the line as an assembly of machinery, not only a declaration per tank, under 2006/42/EC or, from 20 January 2027, Regulation (EU) 2023/1230.

Manual in the language of use with bath make-up, dosing and dumping procedures.

The one people forget. The bath dumping schedule: which bath is emptied, how much and how often. It sets your waste contract and your permit, and it rarely appears on a quotation.

You clean mixed parts in small batches and no customer sets a written cleanliness limit.

An industrial parts washer. One heated cabinet does the job without rinse and drying stages.

Parts are simple, flow on a conveyor, and need wash, rinse and blow-off but not immersion.

A tunnel washing machine, which is shorter to install and simpler to run.
