Dry ice blasting machine from China

The blaster is the cheap part of dry ice cleaning: the running cost sits in the compressed air it needs and in pellets that turn to gas in storage whether you use them or not, and listings rarely state either.

01

What you are actually comparing.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price
01

Single-hose or two-hose

Single-hose machines accelerate pellets inside the unit and blast harder for the same air. Two-hose machines draw pellets by suction at the gun; they are simpler and gentler. Match the type to how bonded your soil is.

02

Air demand

Ask the air flow needed at working pressure. Your compressor and dryer must deliver it at the gun, and wet air makes pellets clump in the hopper.

03

Pellets or shaved block

Most machines take pellets. Some shave blocks into fine particles for delicate surfaces. Confirm the pellet size your local supplier delivers fits the feeder.

04

Feed control

A feeder that meters evenly at low rates lets you clean gently without wasting ice. Hopper agitation stops bridging.

05

Gun, hose and nozzles

Nozzle set, hose length and gun weight decide operator fatigue. Count what is in the box against the jobs you run.

02

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

03

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Require thisA pass looks like
Blast your own soiled part with your air supply and your pellets.Soil removed to the agreed standard, substrate unmarked, and time per part recorded.
Weigh the hopper before and after a timed run at the settings used.Ice use per hour is recorded and inside the rate written in the contract.
Run at the lowest feed setting for the agreed period.Steady pellet flow with no pulsing, blocking or clumping.

04

The documents that must arrive with it.

The one people forget. The noise emission values. The machinery rules require the instructions to state airborne noise, and dry ice blasting is loud enough that your hearing protection assessment starts from that figure.

When this is the wrong machine.

Buy something else if

Named, not hedged
01

You remove rust or mill scale bonded to steel.

An industrial laser cleaning machine, or shot blasting for large areas. Dry ice lifts soil and coatings with weak adhesion but is slow on rust.

02

Parts can be taken off the machine and you clean them every day.

A spray cleaning machine or parts washer, which runs on water and electricity instead of bought-in ice.

06

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Industrial cleaning page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.

Straight answers

Questions buyers ask about this machine.

Chinese vs European dry ice blasting machine: what changes?+

Feeder precision at low rates, build of the gun and hose, and air efficiency. Blast the same part with the same air and weigh the ice used.

What goes on a dry ice blasting machine inspection checklist?+

Your part blasted, ice weighed per hour, lowest feed setting tested, hose ratings, earthing of the gun and noise values in the manual.

What CE documentation does a dry ice blaster need?+

A Declaration of Conformity with the machinery rules, low voltage for electric units, and a manual in your language stating noise.

Who is the EU importer of a dry ice blaster bought in China?+

Usually the buyer. You confirm the documents exist and match the unit, and your name and address go on it or its papers.
