Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price

Square, round or stationary

Square balers make small bales that stack and sell by the bale. Round balers make larger bales with less labour. Stationary hydraulic presses bale hay already gathered, in a yard.

Knotter or net wrap

Square balers depend on the knotter, the most delicate mechanism on the machine. Round balers tie with twine or net. Ask the price of a complete knotter.

Tractor fit

Required PTO power, PTO speed, hitch and hydraulic outlets must match your tractor.

Pickup width and bale size

A pickup narrower than your swath leaves hay behind. Bale size must suit your handling kit.

Decode the model code.

9YG appears on Chinese round baler listings, but the number after it is not consistent: one catalogue used it for pickup width, another for bale width.

9YG-2.24D: 2.24 matched the 2,240 mm pickup; the bale chamber was 1,200 mm across and 1,400 mm wide.
9YG-1.4: 1.4 matched the 1,400 mm bale width; the pickup was 2,260 mm.
