Wood dust collector from China

Dust collectors are listed by motor power, but what clears a machine is airflow at its port against the resistance of your ducts, and a listing that states only kilowatts cannot tell you that.

Written and listings checked 1 October 2026. Every figure on this page names its source.

What you are actually comparing.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price
01

Airflow at stated pressure

Ask for the fan curve: airflow at the static pressure of your ducts. Airflow at zero resistance is a showroom figure.

02

Bag, cartridge or cyclone

Bags suit coarse chips, cartridges fine sanding dust, and a cyclone ahead of either takes the bulk load off the filter.

03

Filter cleaning

Manual shaking, or pulse jet on a timer or pressure switch, which needs compressed air.

04

Explosion protection

Fine wood dust can form an explosive atmosphere. Ask what venting, isolation or ATEX 2014/34/EU marking the unit has, and whether it is meant for indoors or out.

05

Return air

Returning filtered air saves heating but asks a lot of the filter. Ask the filtration class.

02

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

03

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Require thisA pass looks like
Measure airflow at the farthest port with all planned machines open.Airflow at or above what the machine maker asks for at that port.
Run the filter cleaning cycle and read the pressure drop before and after.Pressure drop returns to near the clean value stated in the offer.
Check the marking and venting on the filter housing.Matches the explosion protection written in the offer.

04

The documents that must arrive with it.

The one people forget. Hardwood dust is listed under Directive 2004/37/EC on carcinogens at work. Your exposure measurements, not the collector's brochure, show whether you meet it.

05

When this is the wrong machine.

Buy something else if

Named, not hedged
01

You need to capture solvent paint mist.

A spray booth with its own extraction. A wood dust filter is the wrong place for lacquer overspray.

02

You run one small machine.

A mobile single-bag extractor. Central ducting is out of scale.

06

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

07

Related machines.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Woodworking page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.
