Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price

Shaper: one pass or two

Short blocks are cut on one end, turned and cut again. Ask whether the line has one shaper with a turning table or two shapers.

Press length and end force

Title length and jointed length in the spec table can differ. The cylinder gives one fixed force, so a wide, thick section gets far less pressure per square millimetre.

Glue application

Brush, comb or spray. Ask how glue reaches both faces of the fingers.

Shortest block and cut-off saw

Shortest block decides how much offcut you can use; the end saw decides whether lengths are square.

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

Species, moisture content, and rough or planed blocks.
Smallest and largest cross section you will joint.
Shortest block you want to use and finished length you sell.
Glue type and its pressing time.
Joinery or load-bearing use.

EU Declaration of Conformity for the whole line, 2006/42/EC until 19 January 2027, then Regulation (EU) 2023/1230.
Wiring diagrams with 2014/35/EU and 2014/30/EU references.
Extraction port list with the airflow each shaper needs.

The one people forget. The layout drawing with in-feed and out-feed lengths. A 6 metre press needs more floor than 6 metres.
