Horizontal baler from China

A horizontal baler is sold on tonnage, but your paper buyer pays on bale weight and a clean tie, which depend on the channel, ram face and tier more than on the title figure.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price

Closed door or open-end channel

Closed-door balers make one bale at a time and need a person to tie and eject. Open-end channel balers push a continuous string of bales, held by squeezing the channel walls, for steady volume.

Tying: manual, semi-automatic or automatic

Manual tying needs an operator at each bale; an automatic tier threads and twists wire alone. Ask which the offer includes.

Ram face and specific pressure

Force means little alone. Divide the rated force by the area of the ram face to compare two balers of different bale size.

Feed: hopper, conveyor or air

Cardboard is often fed by conveyor, shredded paper by an air system with a cyclone. Ask what is in scope and who sizes it to your volume.

Hydraulic pack and cooling

Pump, valves and oil cooler decide cycle time and whether a full summer shift is possible. Ask brands.

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

What you bale: corrugated cardboard, mixed paper, film, PET bottles or textiles, and the share of each.
Weekly tonnage and whether it arrives evenly or in peaks.
The bale size and bale weight your buyer or your trucks need.
How material reaches the baler today: bins, forklift, conveyor or a shredder in front.
Space for the full length including the bale string, and your supply voltage.

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Require this	A pass looks like
Bale a counted run of your own cardboard or film at the factory.	Each bale weighed, and the average at or above the bale weight written in the offer.
Run the automatic tier on every bale in the test.	No missed or broken ties across the run, and every bale lifted by forklift without opening.
Time full cycles after the oil has reached working temperature.	Cycle time measured hot at or below the offered figure, with oil temperature recorded.

EU Declaration of Conformity with model and serial number, under 2006/42/EC until 19 January 2027, then Regulation (EU) 2023/1230.
Hydraulic circuit diagram and electrical drawings with low voltage 2014/35/EU and EMC 2014/30/EU references.
A manual in your language covering feed opening guarding, the interlocks and safe clearing of jams.

The one people forget. The spare parts list with seal kit part numbers for each cylinder, which decides whether a leaking seal stops the baler for a day or for a sea freight journey.

Buy something else if

Named, not hedged

You bale a few bins of cardboard a day in a shop or warehouse.

A vertical baler. It fits a small room and costs a fraction of a horizontal one.

Your material is heavy scrap steel, aluminium profiles or car bodies.

A metal scrap baler, with the frame, lid and cylinders built for metal.
