What hides inside the price

Source power and maker

UV sources are sold in single-digit watts and cost steeply per watt. Ask the maker and a power meter reading at the lens.

Water or air cooling

Ask which, the chiller model, and the room temperature range the source is rated for.

Which source actually ships

Some listings put UV, fiber and CO2 under one title. Get the wavelength written on the proforma invoice.

Static, flying or vision

Flying units mark cartons or cables on a line at a stated speed. A camera that finds loose parts on a tray saves fixtures.

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

Your parts with material grade and colour; white ABS and black polycarbonate react differently.
Mark content and smallest character size.
Static batches, or online at a stated line speed.
Clean room or ESD rules where it will stand.
Samples sent, with a return address.

EU Declaration of Conformity with serial number: 2006/42/EC until 19 January 2027, then Regulation (EU) 2023/1230.
Class and wavelength on the label per EN 60825-1.
Chiller datasheet naming the refrigerant, for the F-gas rules in Regulation (EU) 2024/573.

The one people forget. Source warranty terms, separate from the frame. The UV source is the costly part.
