Automatic screen printing press from China

An automatic screen printing press for garments is bought by colour count and pallet count, yet the same search returns bottle, cup and tube printers, and the garment presses that remain differ in drive, registration and flash curing in ways a photo will not show.

What you are actually comparing.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price
01

Garment press or container printer

Searches for oval screen presses return cylindrical printers for bottles, jars and tubes. A garment press has flat pallets that carry shirts past print heads. Check the pallet photos before anything else.

02

Oval track or round carousel

Round carousels are compact and limit colour count to the stations around the ring. Oval presses stretch the track, so you can add heads and flash units, but they need a long room.

03

Colours, stations and flash units

A station can hold a print head, a flash cure unit or a cool-down stop. Dark garments need a white base, a flash and a second white. Count stations after flashes, not before.

04

Drive and registration

Servo-indexed pallets stop in the same place every cycle. Pneumatic or chain drives drift with wear. Ask the registration tolerance stated by the maker, and test it.

05

Pallet size and screen frame size

Pallet size limits print area; screen frame size must match the frames your screen room makes. A mismatch means new frames, emulsion and exposure setup.

02

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

03

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Require thisA pass looks like
Print a six-colour design with fine halftones on dark cotton, with white base and flash, for a counted run.All colours in register on the first and last garment within the tolerance stated in the offer.
Stop the press mid-run for ten minutes and restart. No ink dried in the screen mesh, and the first garment after restart matches the last before.
Swap one screen and re-register it, timed.Changeover time matches the offer, recorded on video.

04

The documents that must arrive with it.

The one people forget. The pneumatic diagram. Air-driven heads are rebuilt locally, and without the diagram a service technician guesses at valves and fittings.

When this is the wrong machine.

Buy something else if

Named, not hedged
01

You print short runs of many designs, often in full colour.

A DTG printer or a DTF printer, with no screens to burn or register.

02

You decorate bottles, jars or cups.

A cylindrical container screen printer, which the same searches will show you.

06

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.
