Dog treat making machine from China

The name covers two opposite processes, hot cooking extrusion for crunchy chews and cold extrusion for soft meaty sticks, and a quote for the wrong one cannot make your treat at any price.

Written and listings checked 30 September 2026. Every figure on this page names its source.

01

What you are actually comparing.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price
01

Hot or cold extrusion

Hot lines cook starch and protein under pressure and need a dryer after. Cold machines shape a meat dough without cooking and need a separate oven or dryer. Get the process named in writing.

02

Meat content the machine will take

Soft sticks carry far more fresh meat than a crunchy chew. Ask for the highest fresh meat share the quoted model has run.

03

Co-extrusion and die sets

Two-colour sticks and filled bones need a co-extrusion head. Count the dies in the quote; each new shape is a new die.

04

Cutting at the die

Treats sell by the piece, so length variation is weight variation. Ask for the cutter drive and the length tolerance the factory will sign.

05

What comes after the extruder

Cooling conveyor, dryer or oven are often outside the headline price, and every listing we read bundled them differently.

02

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

03

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Require thisA pass looks like
Your recipe, shipped to the factory, run on the quoted model and die for one hour.Finished pieces weighed in bulk over that hour at or above the contracted rate, with no die blockage.
Fifty pieces taken at random after drying and weighed one by one.Every piece inside your written weight tolerance, with the spread recorded in the test report.
A die change from one shape to a second shape, timed. The second shape running to tolerance within the changeover time written in the offer.

04

The documents that must arrive with it.

The one people forget. The recipe trial report. Without a signed record of what your dough did on the quoted machine, a later dispute about output has no baseline.

05

01

You make complete dry kibble, or treats that are small kibble in a different shape.

A pet food extrusion line sized for kibble, with its dryer and coater.

02

Your treat is a baked biscuit from a dough sheet.

A pet biscuit machine with a rotary moulder or cutter and a tunnel oven.

06

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Pet food page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.

Straight answers

Questions buyers ask about this machine.

Chinese vs European dog treat making machine: what really differs?+

Screw metallurgy, cutter precision and recipe support. A Chinese machine arrives as hardware; budget for your own recipe know-how at commissioning.

What goes on a dog treat making machine inspection checklist?+

Screw and barrel material against contract, dies and co-extrusion heads supplied, cutter drive make, guarding at the cutter, and the signed recipe trial report.

Does a dog treat making machine need to meet feed law?+

Feed hygiene under Regulation (EC) 183/2005 applies to your business as a feed operator, not to the machine. Raw material of animal origin also brings your plant under Regulation (EC) 1069/2009. Ask your competent authority before the machine ships.

Who is the EU importer when I buy direct?+

Usually you. The importer puts a name and address on the machine or its papers and checks that the Declaration of Conformity matches what was delivered.
