Carton sorting system from China

A carton sorter is only as good as the scan in front of it, so the hard part is the read rate and the gap control that decide whether each carton reaches the right lane, not the wheels that push it there.

What you are actually comparing.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price
01

Sorter type

Swivel wheel, pop-up roller, pusher, sliding shoe or cross belt. Swivel wheels suit cartons with a flat base; soft bags and polybags need a different type.

02

Scanner and read rate

Barcode or dimension, weight and scan tunnel. Ask for the measured read rate on your labels, and where no-reads go.

03

Induction and gaps

Sort rate depends on the gap between cartons. Ask how the gap is made and what rate the quote assumes at your carton lengths.

04

Modules versus system

A per-set price is often one divert module. Count modules, lanes, conveyors, scanners and software on the quote.

05

Software link

How sort destinations arrive from your warehouse system, and who writes that interface.

02

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

03

When this is the wrong machine.

Buy something else if

Named, not hedged
01

You sort a few hundred cartons a day to a handful of destinations.

A roller conveyor with manual diverts and a scanner at a pack station.

02

Most items are polybags, envelopes or soft parcels.

A cross belt or tilt tray sorter, which carries soft items instead of steering them on wheels.

04

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

05

Related machines.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Material handling page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.

Straight answers

Questions buyers ask about this machine.

Chinese vs European carton sorting system: what matters?+

Read rate on your labels, sort accuracy at your rate, and the software interface. Compare full systems, not module prices.

What is on a carton sorting system inspection checklist?+

A timed run of your cartons with read rate and mis-sorts counted, smallest and heaviest items, emergency stops, and the interface tested.

Which standard applies to a sorter?+

EN 619 covers mechanical handling of unit loads. Ask whether the design follows it, and for the declaration for the whole system.

Who is the EU importer?+

The company placing the sorter on the EU market. It checks the declaration and adds its name and address.
