AMR robot from China

An AMR builds a map and steers around people by itself, so what you buy is mostly software: its mapping, its fleet manager and its link to your systems, and a cheap base with weak software costs you in every shift.

Written and listings checked 30 September 2026. Every figure on this page names its source.

What you are actually comparing.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price
01

Navigation mode at the docking point

Laser SLAM finds its way without tape, but several listings add QR tags or reflectors where the robot must dock precisely. Ask for the accuracy in the mode you will actually use at each station.

02

Fleet manager and licences

Task assignment, traffic, charging order and lift or door calls live here. Ask whether it runs on your server or the supplier's cloud, and the price per added robot.

03

Interface to your systems

An open API or a fixed connector to a named warehouse system. Without one, someone keys tasks into a tablet all day.

04

Top module

Jacking, roller top, hook or a mounted arm. The base price rarely includes it.

05

Remote support

Most fault finding happens over a remote connection. Ask who logs in, from where, and what your IT policy must allow.

02

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

03

Turn the claim into a demonstration.

Require thisA pass looks like
Map a mock-up of your busiest crossing and send two robots through it with people walking across. Both robots slow, give way and finish the task without a manual reset.
Dock at a station twenty times using the navigation mode quoted for that station.Measured position error stays inside the transfer tolerance on every attempt.
Cut the Wi-Fi for one minute during a run.The robot stops safely or completes its task, then rejoins the fleet without a restart.

04

The documents that must arrive with it.

The one people forget. The software licence and support terms. A robot whose fleet licence expires, or whose updates stop, keeps its CE mark and stops doing your work.

05

When this is the wrong machine.

Buy something else if

Named, not hedged
01

Routes never change and the aisle is reserved for the vehicle.

An AGV robot on tape or tags, usually lower in price and simpler to maintain.

02

One high-volume path between two fixed points.

A belt conveyor system or roller conveyor, which moves more per hour with no battery.

06

Where the numbers come from.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

07

Related machines.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Material handling page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.

Straight answers

Questions buyers ask about this machine.

Chinese vs European AMR robot: where is the gap?+

In fleet software depth, integrations and local support more than in hardware. Test the software on your layout before you compare prices.

What goes on an AMR robot inspection checklist?+

Mapping of a real layout, docking accuracy per mode, obstacle behaviour with people, Wi-Fi loss recovery, battery label and charger, and the software version.

Which EU rules apply to an AMR robot?+

The machinery rules, low voltage and EMC, and radio equipment rules for the wireless link. Ask for the declaration listing each one, never only a CE logo.

Who is the importer when an AMR ships from China?+

Whoever places it on the EU market, usually the buyer. That company checks the file and puts its name and address on the robot or its papers.
