Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price

Rated inlet temperature

One table rates every size over an inlet range up to 350 °C. Ask at which inlet the evaporation figure holds.

Atomizer

Wheel or pressure nozzle. In one table wheel speed falls from 25,000 to 16,000 rpm as size rises. Ask the wheel make and spare cost.

Heat source and recovery

Electric on small sizes, steam, or indirect gas. Cyclone alone, or cyclone plus bag filter, which keeps fine powder.

Sticky feeds and dust

Sugary feeds cake on warm walls. Milk and starch powders are combustible dust: ask about explosion venting and what is declared under ATEX 2014/34/EU.

Decode the model code.

LPG means high-speed centrifugal; the number is kg of water evaporated per hour.

LPG-25, feed at 40% solids: 25 / 0.60 = about 41.7 kg feed an hour.
Powder: 41.7 x 0.40 = about 16.7 kg an hour, before losses.

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

Feed solids, viscosity and heat tolerance.
Target powder moisture and particle size.
Feed kilograms per hour, not powder.
Steam pressure, gas or electric supply on site.
Whether the powder is combustible or hygroscopic.

Your feed at the inlet temperature you will use.	Water evaporated per hour at or above rating, moisture in specification.
Weigh solids in and powder collected.	Recovery at or above the contract percentage.
Inspect the chamber wall after the run.	No burnt or caked deposit beyond the contract allowance.

Declaration of Conformity citing 2006/42/EC or, from 20 January 2027, Regulation (EU) 2023/1230, and ATEX 2014/34/EU where equipment sits in a dust zone.
Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 declaration for chamber, cyclone and ducts.
Atomizer maintenance manual in your language.

Buy something else if

Named, not hedged

Your feed is too thick to pump or atomize.

A drum dryer, or a freeze dryer for pieces.

Aroma or live cultures cannot survive hot air.

An industrial freeze dryer, slower but gentler.
