Pre roll machine from China

A pre roll machine is sold on cones per hour, but what decides your margin and your label is the weight of each finished pre roll on your own grind, and most offers never show it.

Two quotes, one machine name

What hides inside the price

Batch filler or dose-per-cone

A tray filler shakes loose material into many cones at once and each cone takes what it takes. A servo plunger or needle doser meters a set amount into each cone. Listed prices jump by an order of magnitude between the two.

Weighing: none, sample or every cone

Ask whether the machine weighs every pre roll, a sample, or none. A line with no check-weigher cannot reject an underweight cone.

Tamping and density

Vibration tamping packs from the bottom and often leaves the crutch end loose. Ask how density is set and whether it is stored per recipe.

Closing: twist, fold or by hand

Closing is the slowest step in many pre roll rooms. Check whether twist or fold is built in, optional or a separate station.

Contact parts and cleaning

Resin builds up on needles and funnels. Ask the steel grade of every contact part and whether they strip without tools.

Before you ask for a price.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

Target weight per pre roll and the tolerance on your label.
Cone lengths and filter tips, including glass or ceramic tips, which some fillers break.
Your material: flower, trim or blend, grind size and moisture at filling.
Whether infused material runs on the same machine, and how often you change over.
Closed pre rolls per shift, not only filled cones.

Fill and close at least 100 pre rolls from your own ground material and weigh every one.	Every unit inside your label tolerance, with the lowest, highest and average weight written in the FAT record.
Time one hour of production including loading cones, closing and clearing jams.	Closed pre rolls per hour meet the contract figure with the operators you will actually employ.
Clean the contact parts, then restart on a second material.	Changeover inside the time in the offer, first 20 units back in tolerance.

The documents that must arrive with it.

EU Declaration of Conformity naming model and serial number, under 2006/42/EC until 19 January 2027, then Regulation (EU) 2023/1230.
Material certificates for every part that touches the product.
Operating, cleaning and maintenance manual in the language of the country of use.

The one people forget. The load cell calibration record. If pack weight matters, an auditor will ask how the scale inside the machine was checked.

Named, not hedged

You make a few hundred pre rolls a day and weight is checked by hand anyway.

Fix grinding and drying first, with an industrial herb grinder. No doser meters material that bridges in the hopper.
