A child-resistant zip is stiffer and thicker than a plain zip, and a pouch machine that handles plain pouches well can crush, misalign or half-close it.

Suction and air open a plain zip. A press-to-close or slider zip may need a mechanical opener. Ask how your pouch opens without bending the lock.
A press-to-close zip must engage along its full length, or the pack fails its test. Ask for closing rollers and a check that rejects a half-closed zip.
The tamper seal sits above or below the zip, depending on the fill side. Ask for the jaw drawing against your pouch.
Ask whether the small-bucket weigher or counter is tested on the turntable at the factory.
