What hides inside the price

Air screen cleaner

Aspiration removes dust and light chaff, and sieves separate by width and thickness. It is the first machine in almost every line, and its value is the sieve set supplied for each of your crops.

Indented cylinder

Separates by length: short broken kernels and round weed seeds are lifted out of long grain, or the reverse. Needed when a contaminant has the same width as your seed.

Gravity table

Separates by density on an air-fluidised deck: shrivelled, insect-damaged and light seed from full seed. It decides germination quality in seed for sowing.

Sieve sets and changeover

Count the sieves included for each crop and each aperture, and time a sieve change. A cleaner with one set of sieves is a cleaner for one crop.

Dust control and build

Cyclone or bag filter on the aspiration, and frame stiffness under vibration. Ask how the cleaner is balanced and what shakes the floor.

Weigh the clean fraction and every reject fraction.	Clean seed share of input recorded, and good seed lost in rejects counted against the agreed limit.
Change sieves for a second crop and clean it.	Changeover time recorded and the second crop meets its own figure.

A list of every sieve supplied with its aperture and the crop it is for.
Electrical schematics citing 2014/35/EU and 2014/30/EU, and a manual with the sieve and air settings for each crop.

The one people forget. The sieve list with apertures. It is what lets you order a new sieve locally instead of from the factory.

Named, not hedged

Your problem is discoloured, mouldy or stained grain of the right size.

A grain colour sorter after cleaning. Sieves cannot see colour.

You clean small lots of many crops for trials.

A laboratory or plot-scale cleaner, sized for kilograms, not tonnes.
