Sensitivity is quoted for a test ball in the middle of an empty aperture, while wet, salty or chilled product makes its own signal and stainless steel is the hardest metal to see, so only the figure on your product counts.

A smaller aperture finds smaller pieces. Size it to your tallest pack with little room to spare.
Ask how the unit learns your product, whether it runs several frequencies, and how many product settings it stores.
Reject confirmation, a locked bin, bin-full sensor and a stop when air pressure drops. Retail codes often ask for these.
Air jet for light packs, pusher or flap for heavy ones. Ask which suits your pack weight.
Ask for the ingress rating and belt material if open product touches it.

The coil and signal processing decide performance on wet product. Test both with your product and test pieces.
A Declaration of Conformity under 2006/42/EC, or Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 from 20 January 2027, with 2014/35/EU and 2014/30/EU.
If open product rides the belt, Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 applies to the belt.
