What hides inside the price

Single or twin screw

Twin screws take wider recipes and fillings; single screws suit plain corn grits.

Screw and barrel wear

Listings say stainless steel only. Ask the alloy, hardening and hours to replacement.

Main motor against installed power

One listing gives 30 kW main motor inside 84 kW installed. The rest is dryer, oven and conveyors.

Dryer and flavouring

Electric, gas or diesel oven, and drum or spray flavouring. These decide final moisture.

Decode the model code.

Makers share tier numbers 65, 70, 85 with the same output claims. None stated what the number measures; get screw diameter and length ratio in writing.

65 tier: 100 to 150 kg/h at 74 to 84 kW, about 0.5 to 0.8 kW per kg/h.
