Flat die or ring die
Flat die units suit small farm batches. Ring die mills suit continuous feed mill work with a conditioner ahead. Many listings leave the die type out, so ask first.

The tonnes per hour on a feed pellet machine offer belong to the die, the steam conditioner and a recipe the factory chose, so two quotes with the same figure can pellet your ration at very different rates.

Hole diameter, compression ratio (working length of the hole against its diameter), steel and hardening decide output, pellet hardness and die life. A die tuned for a fibrous cattle ration runs poorly on poultry mash.
Conditioner length and retention time decide how well starch cooks before the die. The boiler, its permit and piping are usually outside the quote, and without steam a ring die mill falls short of its rating.
Gear or belt drive, main motor size, a variable-speed feeder, and a shear pin or overload clutch that saves the gearbox when tramp metal jams a roller.
Pellets leave the die hot and moist. A cooler, crumbler and screen decide whether they survive bagging, and they are often priced separately.

Send these with the enquiry. Without them, any number a factory gives you is a guess dressed as a quotation.

| Require this | A pass looks like |
|---|---|
| Run your ration through the quoted die for an hour after warm-up, weighing output at the cooler exit. | Output per hour recorded and inside the offer, with motor current and conditioner temperature logged. |
| Run a tumbler durability test on pellets from the cooler exit. | Durability measured on counted samples, at or above the value in the contract. |
| Check the fitted die against its paperwork. | Hole size, compression ratio and hardness on the certificate match the die stamped with the machine serial. |

A fish feed extruder. A pellet mill compresses mash but cannot expand it, so the pellet sinks.
A biomass pellet mill with a die made for wood; feed dies and fuel dies differ in compression and wear.

We name the kind of source, how many and when, and never the factory. Listed prices are asking prices, not landed cost. Where we do not hold a fact we say so: that is a GAP, not an estimate.

Every machine we source in this area is on the Agriculture & feed page. How a project runs, stage by stage, is on how it works, and what it costs is on pricing.
Straight answers
Mostly die steel and hardening, gearbox and bearing brands, and the conditioner. A Chinese quote matches a European mill only when your recipe is part of the order and the die is specified on paper.
Serial against the declaration, die certificate against the fitted die, an hour of your ration weighed, a durability test, guarding on the die cover, and the overload device demonstrated.
A Declaration of Conformity and technical file under the machinery rules. Feed hygiene under Regulation (EC) 183/2005 binds the feed business operator, not the machine.
The business placing it on the EU market. It checks the declaration and technical file exist and puts its name and address on the machine or papers.
